Two Demonstrators Arrested in Columbus Wednesday!!!

Demonstrations in front of Blackwell's Office, December 6 - 10, 2004

Two people protesting in front of Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell's office were arrested today (Wednesday) and taken to the Franklin county jail.

They are Dan and Carrie, a husband and wife who came to Ohio from California with Warren Linney, the organizer of the demonstration. They came to help raise awareness of the apparent vote fraud by standing outside Blackwell's office with signs and by attempting to meet with the Secretary.

The purposes of the demonstration are: asking Blackwell to start the recount, recuse himself from the recount, appear at the Judiciary Hearing about fraud in Ohio (he missed that one on Wednesday the 8th), and to certify electors only after the recount is finished. It was on one of these attempts to meet with the Secretary that Dan and Carrie were arrested.

Ironically, they were taken by the police while they were in a public restaurant in the same building where the taxpayers furnish the Secretary of State with expensive accommodations on the 15th floor of the Borden Building.

They had arrived on Friday or Saturday, and began their watch Monday.
